My Heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here;
My Heart's in the Highlands a chasing the deer;
Chasing the wild deer, and following the roe;
My Heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go.
Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North;
The birth-place of Valour, the country of Worth;
Wherever I wander, wherever I rove,
The hills of the Highlands for ever I love.
Farewell to the mountains high covered with snow;
Farewell to the Straths and green vallies below;
Farewell to the forests and wild-hanging woods;
Farewell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods.

Моє серце в горах
Моє серце завше в горах слід лишає свій,
там його несе в погоні олень золотий,
Мчить козуля, мчить серденько по її слідах,
Де б не був я, серце моє з горами в думках!
Я північним тихим горам шлю своє "прощай!",
Доблесть моїй Батьківщині, в цей достойний край!
Я мандрую і блукаю, відстані молю,
Але гори щирим серцем назавжди люблю!
Прощавайте, мої гори, сніжнії верхи,
Розійтись із зелен-гаєм так не до снаги,
Прощавай, мій лісе-брате, що висиш густий,
Ти, стрімкий поточе, гори голосом залий!
Моє серце завше в горах слід лишає свій,
там його несе в погоні олень золотий,
Мчить козуля, мчить серденько по її слідах,
Де б не був я, серце моє з горами в думках!
