On the power of pens

 Psst,  I  know  a  secret:
the  sword  and  the  gun,  
the  bomb  and  the  rocket
aren’t  the  best  weapons.  
All  they  create  are  the  dead
and  the  not  yet.  
Only  the  pen  has  the  power
 to  create  monsters  and  martyrs.  
 To  sell  any  killing  wholesale.    
So,  yes,  the  pen  is  mightier  
than  the  sword.  

I  choose  to  believe
The  pen  has  uses  beyond  weapon.  
At  the  start  of  any  greater  understanding  
was  the  word  and  the  story  and  so  the  pen.  
I    use  it  to  tell  stories  
That  are  more  shield  than  weapon  
and  mostly  write  calls  to  open  arms.
